Where In The World Is Kari Lake? In Florida, Of Course
ARIZONA -– Where in the world was Kari Lake this weekend? In Florida, at a convention of extremists and conspiracy theorists to hawk her book.
Over the weekend, Kari Lake was in West Palm Beach, Florida for #Walk-A-Con’s 5th Anniversary. #Walk-A-Con is organized by Brandon Straka who is a pro-Trump influencer sentenced to three years of probation for his role in the January 6th insurrection and whose organization, #WalkAway, is described as a “grifting operation.”
Kari was scheduled to be joined at #Walk-A-Con by noted conspiracy theorists like Rudy Giuliani who has been indicted on charges relating to interfering with the results of the 2020 election, and Simone Gold, a conspiracy theorist who was charged for her participation in the January 6th insurrection.
Straka’s promotional materials for #Walk-A-Con advertised Lake as the keynote speaker, charging $200 to attend for the weekend and receive a copy of her book. Immediately after Lake’s brunch, Straka describes a panel called, “The True Stories of January 6th: The Prosecuted Speak.” The panel was scheduled to include:
- Simone Gold and John Strand, who was sentenced to 32 months in prison for his role in the January 6th insurrection.
- Former West Virginia lawmaker Derrick Evans, who recorded himself inside the U.S. Capitol building on January 6th “screaming ‘Derrick Evans is in the Capitol!”
- Julie Kelly who has claimed a Capitol Police officer wounded in the attack was a ”crisis actor” and criticized the officers for “attacking” the rioters.
The panel was a perfect event to follow Lake, who has called January 6th a “fed-surrection” and “staged riot.”
After this weekend, Lake has held seven campaign events outside of Arizona.
