Kari Lake Calls January 6th “A Staged Riot” and a “Fedsurrection” 

PHOENIX -– Yesterday, “one of the nation’s leading conspiracy theorists” and potential Senate candidate Kari Lake appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, pushing new conspiracy theories about the January 6th insurrection, including calling it a “fedsurrection.”
Here’s what Lake had to say about January 6th insurrection:

• “All that January 6 was, was a staged riot to cover up the fact that they certified a fraudulent election.”
• “And frankly, if [Pence’s] got a problem with what happened on January 6th, he should …talk to the folks in the FBI who planted a bunch of you know, rabble rousers in the crowd to cause trouble.”
• “And you know, what he really should do is he should sit down and take a look at the roughly 40,000 hours of video of surveillance footage. And I think he can sort it out real quick, who the trouble was, who the good guys were, and who those handful of bad guys were that were planted in that fedsurrection.”

Lake also continued to push baseless conspiracy theories about the 2020 and 2022 elections despite her meritless election suits having been rejected 5 times by every level of the Arizona court system:

• “There’s only one candidate who’s willing to stand up to that swamp or the tyranny, and that’s President Donald J. Trump. And I think we all know when you say electability, this is a guy who’s already won. He won in 2016. He won even bigger in 2020.”
• “They were doing that on January 6th. They were asking their elected officials for relief from a fraudulent election. They were asking to have these questionable, suspicious, fraudulent numbers sent back to the state to take a second look at them.”
• “And there’s a mountain of evidence. So perhaps this will be an opportunity to subpoena some people from Arizona all the way to Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin and beyond and find out what happened in this fraudulent election.”
• “This government will turn on each and every one of us because this government is illegitimate and it’s lashing out right now.”

POLITICO recently reported that Kari Lake’s potential candidacy is ‘sparking angst amongst Republicans.’

“Lake’s continuing to push baseless conspiracy theories about how the 2020 and 2022 elections were stolen – even after her multiple losses in court and hundreds of thousands of Arizonans’ tax dollars wasted,” said Olivia Taylor-Puckett, Senior Communications Advisor at the Arizona Democratic Party.
