ARIZONA -–  Last week, Kari Lake continued to deny the results of the 2022 election, asking the Arizona Supreme Court to “either order a new 2022 gubernatorial election, or ‘proportionally strike 275,000 ballots’” and declare her governor – which “raises the question of which office Lake actually wants.”

Arizona courts have previously ruled that Lake “will not get a do-over of the 2022 election she lost,” “nor is Lake entitled to a new trial.” In April, the U.S. Supreme Court “brushed aside” Lake’s effort to ban voting machines, refusing Lake’s request for them to “endorse a conspiracy theory” election denial case that has previously been described as  “furthering false narratives,” “baseless,” and “reckless” – and resulted in over $100,000 in sanctions.

• ABC15: “Early voting is underway in Arizona for this month’s primary election, but that’s not stopping Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake from asking the Arizona Supreme Court to reverse the 2022 election and declare her the governor. Lake filed a petition for review Thursday night, claiming the Superior Court and the Court of Appeals should have reinstated her case because of new evidence that Maricopa County did not conduct the necessary logic and accuracy testing on the vote tabulators. The new evidence claims were rejected in federal court as part of Lake’s separate effort to throw out electronic voting machines. The U.S. Supreme Court refused to consider this matter.”

• The Hill: Lake appeals to have courts reconsider 2022 gubernatorial case. “Lake has refused to concede the results of the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election… The former local news anchor has filed multiple lawsuits over the results, though they’ve largely been rejected by the courts.”
