Introducing the #AZSen Candidates: Jim “Lemon” Lamon
PHOENIX — Now that the GOP Senate primary field is set, we’re taking the opportunity to introduce the “decidedly weak” candidates and outline just how unfit they are to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate.
Known for cosplaying as a cowboy and bragging about his personal wealth, out-of-touch businessman Jim Lamon is pouring millions of his own dollars into his campaign to try and buy his ticket to Washington. See below for everything you need to know about Jim “Lemon” Lamon:
- The Alabama-native turned Utah resident is the ultimate Arizona carpetbagger, crossing state lines to run for U.S. Senate in a state he clearly knows little about.
- A professional political donor with a history of buying influence, Lamon has now set his sights on his own bid and personally pledged to spend $50 million on this race — which he’s been busy spending to buy up endorsements.
- Lamon is running on an agenda that is entirely out of step with what Arizonans want: He called the Washington GOP plan to hike taxes “pretty good stuff,” vowed to rip away Social Security benefits, and promised to bring his anti-choice agenda with him to the Senate.
- On the campaign trail, Lamon is trying to trick voters with a phony populism shtick, but in reality, he’s nothing more than a hypocritical businessman willing to do anything to win Trump’s endorsement — even if it means betraying Arizonans.
