Where In The World Is Kari Lake? At CPAC, Where Pledges to “End of Democracy” Received Rabid Cheers
ARIZONA -– Tomorrow, Kari Lake will be at CPAC alongside some of her favorite conspiracy theorists, extremists, and insurrectionists. Lake’s speech to attendees comes as Lake’s nightmare campaign has yet another very bad, no good week after admitting she “doesn’t know who stole the election,” and faced new questions over her ability to unify Republicans after her criticism of late Senator John McCain resurfaced.
On Wednesday at CPAC, Jack Posobiec, a “Papa Bear” according to Kari Lake, said “Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely. We didn’t get all the way there on Jan. 6, but we will endeavor to get rid of it,” to which Steve Bannon, whom Lake called a “modern day George Washington,” said “Amen.” Posobiec “has collaborated with white supremacists, neo-fascists and antisemites for years” while “producing propaganda.”
Kari Lake’s CPAC attendance, where pledges to “End of Democracy” received rabid cheers, shows Arizonans that Lake is “still an extremist.”
Here are some of the notable conspiracy theorists, insurrectionists, and extremists Kari Lake will be appearing alongside:
- Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union and host of CPAC, who continues to be under investigation for allegations of sexual assault.. Lake has a long record of praising Schlapp, and recently campaigned with him.
- Senator Tommy Tuberville, who said Thursday that he is “all for” the Alabama Supreme Court’s decision that frozen embryos are children. Lake said she is “honored” to have Tuberville’s endorsement.
- Fellow grifter Brandon Straka, a pro-Trump influencer sentenced to three years of probation for his role in the January 6th insurrection and whose organization, #WalkAway, is described as a “grifting operation.”
- Kash Patel, former Trump aide, who was “entangled” in Trump’s Mar-a-Largo documents case, and who recently said “New Trump admin would try to prosecute journalists.”
- Mike Lindell, an “American Hero” according to Lake, who promoted a “wacky new way to fight vote fraud might get you arrested,” and who “must pay $5 million to man who won his ‘Prove Mike Wrong’ challenge.”
- Kimberly Fletcher, founder and president of “Moms For America,” who spoke at the January 5 rally, was subpoenaed by the House January 6 committee. During her deposition, Fletcher pled the Fifth Amendment to nearly every question posed to her, but the committee referenced exhibits demonstrating the high level of involvement Moms for America and its representatives played in organizing the event.
- Tim Ballard, former. CEO of Operation Underground Railroad, who is under investigation for claims of sexual misconduct involving seven women who he allegedly invited to “act as his ‘wife’ which he then allegedly coerced into “sharing a bed or showering together.”
