Statement from Arizona Democratic Party Chair on Results of Arizona Gubernatorial Race

PHOENIX- Tonight, after election workers have been working day in and day out to ensure every legal vote is counted, Arizonans made their voices heard and have chosen Secretary Katie Hobbs to be their next Governor. This is the first time in over a decade that a Democrat will hold the office, showing Arizonans were ready for a change.

“This isn’t just a win for Democrats, this is a win for every single Arizonan,” said Arizona Democratic Party Chair Raquel Terán. “Secretary Hobbs will be a Governor for every family, she will put Arizonans first, and she will work to address our state’s biggest issues such as rising costs and public education.”

“Thank you Arizona for rejecting extremism and putting the dignity of our state first. This took all of us and we are grateful to every part of our movement for bringing this victory across the line; unions, Latino communities, young voters, Native communities, women, Black communities, community-based organizations, all 15 counties, and so many more turned out and made their voices heard and we could not be more proud.”
