Arizona Democratic Party’s Statement on the Dobbs Decision Anniversary

ARIZONA- Tomorrow, marks the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which overturned Roe v. Wade and ended the constitutional right to an abortion. As Republicans use the Dobbs decision to outlaw abortion by state legislatures, Arizona is proud to be a leader in the reproductive space with a Democratic Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and numerous local leaders dedicated to protecting abortion rights and access.

“The Dobbs decision moved our country backward and gave Republicans dangerous ground to play politics with private healthcare decisions,” said chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, Yolanda Bejarano. “While the Arizona GOP attempts to use a narrow majority to push unpopular abortion bans in our state, Democrats are using our power to protect abortion access. The Arizona Democratic Party is committed to protecting abortion rights and is confident that voters and Arizonans will reject extreme anti-abortion candidates in 2024.”
