RECAP: Democrats Highlight President Biden’s First Year Accomplishments, Wins for Arizona
PHOENIX — Earlier today, ADP Chair Raquel Terán hosted a press call to mark the one-year anniversary of the Biden-Harris administration and highlight how President Biden has worked for Arizona families to create jobs, lower costs, and build for the future.

Both Chair Terán and Ak-Chin Indian Community Chairman Robert Miguel underscored how beneficial Biden’s hallmark first-year legislative accomplishments — namely the American Rescue Plan and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — were for Arizonan children, families, schools, and communities despite Republicans’ best efforts to block his efforts at every turn.

Here’s what the speakers at today’s press conference had to say:
ADP Chair Raquel Terán (LD-30):

  • “Even though our governor is fighting this administration at every turn and downplaying what a lifesaver President Biden was for our state, his American Rescue Plan still delivered $6.8 billion in relief to keep us up and running.”
  • “These are accomplishments that Arizonans can feel. President Biden acted quickly to lower costs, to keep our favorite neighborhood businesses open, to fund our local governments, and to keep us all safe.”
  • “And over the next several years when Arizonans are driving on better roads, riding sustainable public transit, gaining access to high-speed internet for the first time, drinking safe water, and finding good-paying, union jobs right here in our state, they’ll have Joe Biden and Democrats to thank.”
  • “These wins are significant, and in 2022 Arizona Democrats up and down the ticket are going to run and win on them.”

Ak-Chin Indian Community Chairman Robert Miguel:

  • “He has been a true partner for the Ak-Chin Indian Community, and without his leadership and partnership, this last year would have looked a whole lot different — his American Rescue Plan provided the largest investment into Indian Country and Tribal communities in history.”
  • “And of course, the just recently-passed Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that included the largest-ever investment in Tribal infrastructure will allow us to continue progressing and moving forward.”
  • “For Tribal communities here in Arizona, it’s clear that this administration can and will deliver results that help our people, make life better, and build for a future where everyone can thrive. And again, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to commend President Biden and his administration for allowing us to continue to look forward in a positive way […].”
