REALITY CHECK: Kari Lake Supports A Total Abortion Ban With No Exceptions for Rape or Incest 

Reality:

Kari Lake’s full-throated support of a total, draconian abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest proves that under a Lake administration, we would have government-mandated forced births that risk women’s lives. Her extreme stances are an affront to the overwhelming majority of Arizonans who support access to safe and legal abortion, and will put thousands of Arizonans’ lives at risk.

Lake’s extreme track record on abortion speaks for itself. She called the territorial-era total ban a “great law,” and pledged to sign a carbon copy of the Texas Heartbeat Bill if elected. She is in favor of criminalizing abortion providers and will force cops to go after medical professionals. In addition, she has referred to women seeking abortions as “ghouls,” “liars,” “murderers,” and “executioners.” Make no mistake: if elected governor, Kari Lake will seek to further take away Arizonans’ reproductive freedoms and put millions of peoples’ lives on the line.

Arizonans will reject Kari Lake and her unrelenting war on reproductive care.
