Kari Lake Denies Reality, Doubles Down on the Big Lie
PHOENIX– The January 6th committee held its second hearing yesterday, further clarifying how far Republicans are willing to go to destroy democracy and overthrow an election. The hearings so far have painted a disturbing, but clear picture of a president who knew he had lost the 2020 election, but was willing to do anything to grasp onto power, and had plenty of lackeys and sycophants willing to help.
Kari Lake is more than happy to carry on the Big Lie, despite reality proving that the 2020 election was free, fair and legitimate. During the June 13th Arizona Republican “debate” that only Lake showed up to, Lake went on her usual tirade that the 2020 election was stolen, saying, “It was a debacle. It was stolen, it was corrupt and rotten to the core, and I will continue to say that until my last dying breath. The election of 2020 was stolen from us.” Lake then proceeds with more lies that our elections aren’t secure, saying we need a “one day election” and “we need to get rid of these electronic voting machines.”
A reminder that Kari Lake has joined with Mark Finchem, who actually participated in the January 6th insurrection, in a lawsuit to ban ballot tabulation machines in Arizona elections, despite that making elections near impossible to manage in a state with about 4 million registered voters.
“Kari Lake is living in an alternate reality where Trump is still president and she’s governor of Arizona. Thankfully for us that’s not real,” said Josselyn Berry, spokesperson for the Arizona Democratic Party. “Doubling down on the lie that the 2020 election was stolen may help Lake in a GOP primary, but it’ll get her nowhere with normal, sane Independent Arizona voters who have already moved on.”
