PHOENIX — In the five days since a Pima County judge ruled to reinstate Arizona’s pre-statehood abortion ban, Blake Masters has been completely silent, desperately hoping that Arizonans will forget his previous call to nationalize the archaic law that outlaws abortion without exceptions for rape or incest and mandates jail time for providers.

• Washington Post: Asked last year on One America News if he would support a national ban similar to an Arizona law dating back to the 1800s that “bans all abortions,” Masters said yes.

Arizonans won’t be fooled — over the last year, Masters has cemented his place as one of the nation’s most dangerous, anti-choice Senate candidates, repeatedly calling for a nationwide abortion ban without exceptions that could result in jail time for women accessing essential health care. And yet — just as he did one month ago when he scrubbed his campaign website — Masters is now trying to hide his true beliefs on abortion.
