FIGHT NIGHT: What to Know Ahead of Tonight’s Televised #AZSen Debate

PHOENIX — For the first time ever, the candidates in Arizona’s “increasingly nasty,” “bloody,” and “intensely personal” GOP Senate primary will come to blows on TVs across the state during tonight’s televised debate.

Tonight’s event will bring the ongoing Masters vs. Lamon attack ad war to primetime as the rivals hammer home their opponent’s vulnerabilities, including Masters’ many well-documented, problematic opinions and Lamon’s history of doing business with the Chinese Communist Party and profiting off forced labor.

Mark Brnovich is notably absent from tonight’s lineup, but after the ruthless heckling he faced at last month’s debate, we’re not sure we blame him.

So that you can better get to know this out-of-touch field ahead of tonight’s spectacle, we put together a Buzzfeed quiz to test your knowledge of who said what so far in this primary. Between Lamon and Masters’ calls to ban abortion and dismantle Social Security, one thing is clear — none of these “lesser-known Republicans” are fit to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate.
