After two years and three ditched visits, Donald Trump embraces white supremacy instead of vulnerable Republicans
June 7th,2024
ARIZONA- Donald Trump finally visited Arizona after being convicted of 34 felonies, ditching his last three visits, shutting down Hispanic Community Centers, and having no ground game in the state. It’s Friday, so here’s a round up (corral) of what our Arizona Republicans are up to:
- Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-01): responded to reporters’ questions about why he hasn’t said anything about Trump felony conviction by saying that he “despise[s] Twitter.” Schwikert’s official twitter account has tweeted four times since Trump’s conviction last week.
- Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06): “is seen as one of the House’s most vulnerable sitting Republicans,” and despite Ciscomani finally getting Donald Trump’s endorsement, during his visit yesterday Trump gave a shout out to nearly every congressional Republican but Cisocmani.
- Rep. Eli Crane (AZ-02): “has courted controversy and faces a challenge in the July 30 Republican primary,” despite being fully embraced by MAGA yesterday joining Charli Kirk and Andy Biggs for a pre trump interview and leading the pledge of allegiance for Trump rally.
- Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ-05): was pushed by journalists this week to admit that urging the release of the audio interview between special counsel Robert Hur and President Joe Biden was for political reasons. The Newsmax reporter asked if Biggs could just admit that “We want the tapes so we can find out if there’s something embarrassing for the president on there that can then be used against him over the next five months.”
- Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-09): had reporters asking this week “how many times must Gosar go off the rails?” after proposing that a way to end inflation is by printing $500 bills with Donald Trump’s face on it.
