While Arizona Democrats work to move Arizona forward, Arizona Republicans work for Trump and their wealthy campaign donors
May 24th,2024
ARIZONA- Arizona Republicans spent the week appeasing Trump, MAGA Republicans, and their wealthy campaign donors rather than working for Arizonans. It’s Friday, so here’s a round-up (corral) of what our Arizona Republicans are up to:
- Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-01): promoted the big pharma company Novo Nordisk, which produces an ozempic-like medication weight loss drug two weeks in a row in his taxpayer-funded congressional newsletter. This follows months of promotion of the drug after Novo Nordisk contributed $5,000 to Schweikert’s re-election campaign.
- Rep. Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06): made End Citizens United’s annual list of “most corrupt politicians” for opposing tax hikes on the wealthiest Americans and taking over $400,000 from corporate PACs in his first term.
- Rep. Eli Crane (AZ-02): ditched his job to support Donald Trump during his hush money trial in New York Thursday. Crane was joined by MAGA Republicans Rep. Andy Biggs, Matt Gaetz, and Laura Boebert who all used the opportunity to post on social media and play political theater Trump.
- Rep. Andy Biggs (AZ-05): attended the Trump defense presser with MAGA Republicans Rep. Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert last thursday. Along with pushing his thumb on the scales of justice for Trump, Biggs has championed defunding District Attorneys across the United States.
- Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-09): posted on Twitter that President Biden “ordered the hit on Trump at Mar-a-Lago,” spreading a conspiracy theory that a standard FBI search was an assassination attempt on Trump. Gosar and MAGA Extremist Marjorie Taylor Green worked to spread this theory after Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that Biden authorized the FBI to use a “DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE” while searching his Florida residence.
