Blake Masters Joins Rival Jim Lamon and Calls to Privatize Social Security
PHOENIX — Blake Masters just became the second GOP Senate primary candidate to call for privatizing Social Security, pushing a proposal that would devastate over 1.3 million Arizona seniors — many of whom rely on their benefits to survive.
Here’s how it went down:
First, Jim Lamon, an out-of-touch, self-funding multi-millionaire, shamelessly spelled out his plan to raise the retirement age and privatize Social Security on his campaign website.

Now, Blake Masters has joined the fray, announcing his plan to privatize the program and even slash benefits, saying “We’ve got to cut the knot at some point.” Ironically, in his pitch to bring “fresh and innovative thinking” to Washington, Masters revived an outdated, unpopular, and failed plan that would completely upend seniors’ lives.

“Jim Lamon and Blake Masters are running to put Social Security on the chopping block, jeopardizing the health and wellbeing of the 1.3 million Arizona seniors who rely on the program to get by,” said ADP spokesperson Hannah Goss. “Arizona’s seniors deserve a voice in Washington who will protect Social Security — not dismantle it — and that’s exactly why whichever out-of-touch Republican makes it out of this ‘scorched earth’ primary will be soundly rejected by voters come this November.”
