Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Will Relieve Supply Chain Back-Ups and Continue Creating Jobs for Arizonans

PHOENIX –– Thanks to Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — which passed without the support of a single Arizona Republican — Arizona’s 58 airports would receive approximately $348 million for infrastructure development for airports over five years. This money will not only help improve travel to make our state a top travel destination, but it will also help relieve supply chain back-ups affecting our country. Arizona is a leading state in aviation and aviation is a key component of Arizona’s link to the global marketplace by helping local, national and international commerce.
In 2020, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) alone processed millions of weight in cargo and since then PHX forecasted the demand to increase year over year well into the future. As we continue to face the ongoing demand, we know President Biden’s Infrastructure law will continue to address supply chain bottlenecks with funds for creative solutions to alleviate congestion to ensure Arizona’s airports can efficiently address new air cargo developments needed.
In recognizing the critical role American airports play in the global economy, President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure will be a game-changer for Arizona air travel, repairing runways, building new taxiways, replacing aging terminals, investing in airport-transit connections, increasing airport safety and capacity, and more — all while creating jobs, ensuring Arizona has state-of-the-art facilities, and making travel easier for all.
“Once it’s all said and done, and Arizonans start reaping the benefits of new jobs, repaired bridges, cost effective commutes and public transportation options generated by President Biden’s Infrastructure law– Paul Gosar, Andy Biggs, David Schweikert, and Debbie Lesko will have to answer for their NO votes on this once-in-a-generation infrastructure investment package,” said Arizona’s Democratic Party Executive Director, Charlie Fisher.
