ARIZONA- This Monday, January 22nd marked the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade and Arizona Democrats called out Donald Trump’s abortion ban and attempts in the Arizona state legislature to bring back the1864 ban that has no exceptions for rape or incest.
What Our Chairwoman Yolanda Bejarano said:
Copper Courier: Opinion: With freedoms on the line, Arizonans can’t afford another Trump abortion ban
“This shouldn’t be the Arizona we’re living in, where our freedom to make our own healthcare choices is relentlessly attacked and ripped away from us, but it is — thanks to Donald Trump and Arizona Republicans like Kari Lake, who praised the overturning of Roe.Now, he and MAGA Republicans, from Rep. Juan Ciscomani to Rep. David Schweikert, want to take it even further with a national abortion ban.”
My Herald Review: AZ Democrats look to abortion to help them win the legislature in 2024
“‘While Republicans are running on their anti-freedom agenda of taking away rights and dictating women’s private health care decisions, Democrats from state legislatures to the Oval Office are committed to making sure people have more rights, not fewer,’ said Yolanda Bejarano, the chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, during a Friday news conference commemorating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. […] The best way to protect Arizona women from increasingly hostile abortion laws is to back Democratic candidates who will fight for reproductive access, Bejarano said. The 2022 midterm elections saw Democrats win statewide offices, erecting a bulwark against Republican anti-abortion bills, but new policy can’t be enacted without a legislative majority. The GOP currently holds a slim one-vote majority in each chamber.”

Arizona Democrats are hoping to sweep the November elections, bolstered by a reproductive rights stance that sharply contrasts attacks on abortion access from Republicans. “While Republicans are running on their anti-freedom agenda of taking away rights and dictating women’s private health care decisions, Democrats from state legislatures to the Oval Office are committed to making sure people have more rights, not fewer,” said Yolanda Bejarano, the chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, during a Friday news conference commemorating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

Tucson Sentinel: On Roe’s anniversary, Tucson Dems push for Nov. wins, Az amendment protecting abortion rights
“On this day 51 years ago, the Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling in Roe v. Wade that protected the right to choose for Arizonans, yet today, women have faced an onslaught of attacks on their fundamental freedoms – all because of Donald Trump,” said Arizona Democratic Party Chair Yolanda Bejarano. “Roe v. Wade would still be in place if not for Trump’s presidency, and now, he’s running on a pledge to ban abortion nationwide, which would rip away freedoms from millions of Arizonans.”
