Arizona Veteran Reacts to Blake Masters’ Defense of 9/11 Conspiracy Theorist
PHOENIX — Yesterday, HuffPost published previously unreported emails from Blake Masters, exposing his history of defending a 9/11 conspiracy theorist and applauding those who question the “official story” of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in which nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives.
In the emails, Masters said “there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a ‘conspiracy theorist’” and that “blindly accepting” the 9/11 story would be a “mistake.” Masters’ endorsements of dangerous conspiracy theories and criticism of our military is nothing new. He called U.S. entry into World War II “unjust,” said Al Qaeda is not a real threat to America, and even favorably quoted a Nazi war criminal.
In response to Masters’ defense of a 9/11 conspiracy, Luis Cardenas Camacho, Marine Corps Combat Veteran, released the following statement:
“As a post 9/11 veteran with multiple deployments, I find Blake Masters’ comments calling into question the tragedy of 9/11 truly dishonorable. 3,000 Americans lost their lives in a terrorist attack that radically changed our country forever. Many of my fellow Marines gave their lives in the wars that followed. His skepticism is an insult to all Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who sacrificed so much in the aftermath of 9/11, and it’s a disgrace to Arizona.”
