Arizona Democratic Party Statement on the Anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare

ARIZONA- Today, Arizona Democratic Party Chair Yolanda Bejarano  released the following statement on the 58th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid becoming law:

“Medicare and Medicaid have been helping Americans get the health care they need for 58 years, but the future of these lifesaving programs are on the line in 2024. Since President Biden and Vice President Harris took office two years ago, they’ve fought tirelessly to bring down healthcare costs for Arizonans– strengthening Medicare, capping the cost of prescription drugs, expanding access to Medicaid, and lowering health care premiums for Americans across the country.

“But MAGA Republicans are doing everything in their power to sabotage these programs and repeal cost-saving provisions, which would be devastating on Arizona families. As Republicans continue to wage war on health care and side with Big Pharma, it is critical that we re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris and elect Democrats to safeguard Arizonans access to the care they need.”
