ADVISORY: Arizona Democrats to Call Out Dangerous GOP Agenda to Dismantle Social Security Ahead of the Program’s 87th Anniversary
#AZSen Nominee Blake Masters has called to “cut the knot,” privatize the program
PHOENIX –– TOMORROW at 10:00 am local time, Arizona leaders and seniors will join the Arizona Democratic Party for a press conference to call out GOP efforts to dismantle Social Security ahead of the program’s 87th anniversary.
Earlier this year, Rick Scott, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, put forward a plan that was supported by prominent Republicans that could put Arizona’s Social Security and Medicare benefits on the chopping block. What’s more, GOP Senate nominee Blake Masters has made his position clear, shamelessly calling to “cut the knot” on benefits and privatize the program.
Ultimately, the 1.4 million Arizonans who rely on Social Security to make ends meet simply cannot afford the Republican agenda to cut the benefits they’ve paid into for decades.
