ARIZONA -– On Saturday, Kari Lake will be in Idaho headlining Bonneville GOP’s Lincoln Day Gala and fundraiser, continuing her “cross-country itinerary she’s mapped out to promote her campaign [that] appears better suited for someone with national aspirations or a book to sell” that’s been “raising eyebrows” for “how much attention she’s paying to her national profile.”
Lake is again chasing the “limelight” this weekend at her “second political rally in Idaho in less than a year after visiting Boise in July” of 2023, for which Lake was paid $5,000 “directly contradicting claims by her campaign that she isn’t paid for public speaking.”
Lake will be joined by Idaho Republican Party Chairwoman Dorothy Moon, who has been described as “far-right” and a fellow promoter of election denial. Moon expressed support for Idaho’s restrictive abortion ban, applauded the Idaho Supreme Court for upholding abortion bans, and has called abortion “evil.” A Republican party official said “The rise of political extremism in Idaho is a direct consequence of Moon’s leadership.”
Lake’s flight to Idaho comes after taking heat for encouraging political violence at a rally in Arizona on Sunday, urging supporters to “strap on a Glock” to prepare for the 2024 election and after doubling-down on her anti-abortion positions, attempting to downplay the severity of the draconian 1864 territorial ban on abortion.
Republicans continue sounding the alarm on Kari Lake’s “limelight”-chasing campaign, saying they are “not sure what [Lake’s] path is forward,” that “Kari Lake looks increasingly like she isn’t a candidate that can win” as her “attempt at a campaign makeover appears to have fallen flat.”
