ADVISORY: As GOP #AZSen Candidates Look to Repeal, Health Care Groups Celebrate 12 Years of ACA Success
PHOENIX — TODAY at 2:00 pm local time, leading Arizona health care organizations will join the Arizona Democratic Party to hold a press conference marking the twelve-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and call out the GOP Senate primary candidates who are running to eliminate the crucial health care law.
As Senate Republicans recommit to repealing the ACA, the GOP primary field has made it clear they’re aiming to do the same. Mark Brnovich tried (and failed) to overturn the ACA in court, Blake Masters called the law a “disaster,” and Jim Lamon is shamelessly campaigning to eliminate it.
Repealing the ACA, as the GOP candidates are planning to do, would be devastating for Arizonans — gutting coverage protections for 1.1 million individuals with pre-existing conditions and spiking health costs across the board.
Thankfully, Arizonans have been able to count on Senator Mark Kelly, who has spent his first year in office working to strengthen and improve access to health care, while also lowering costs. His work to lower health care premiums, end surprise medical billing, and lower prescription drug costs stand in stark contrast to these politicians’ efforts to end the Affordable Care Act.
