Masters and Cawthorn and MTG — Oh My!
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Becomes the Latest MAGA Republican to Back Masters’ Senate Bid
PHOENIX — It’s a match made in…heaven?
Yesterday, controversial Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene — known best for spouting conspiracy theories on everything from the 2020 election to 9/11 — endorsed fellow click-bait magnet Blake Masters in Arizona’s GOP Senate primary.
The endorsement isn’t all that shocking for those who have been following along — after all, Blake all but begged Greene to support his Senate bid, calling her “really impressive” and “the real deal,” (note: not the words we’d use).
Greene joins a controversial contingent of MAGA extremists in backing Masters in this crowded contest. Earlier this year, contentious Congressman Madison Cawthorn endorsed Masters’ candidacy, visited him in Tucson, and even filmed a nearly hour-long promotional video to highlight their ideological similarities.
“Clearly, like attracts like. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Blake Masters are two MAGA peas in a pod – known for spouting conspiracy theories, promoting antisemitic rhetoric, and doing whatever they can to go viral,” said ADP spokesperson Hannah Goss. “Given the types of people who are backing Blake in this ‘decidedly weak’ field of C-list candidates, it’s clear the type of senator Masters is running to be: divisive, distasteful, and not at all what Arizonans need.”
