Kirsten Engel Dominates Second Debate

On abortion rights, border security, and the economy, Engel puts Ciscomani on defensive

October 8th, 2024
ARIZONA– AZ-06 Democratic candidate Kirsten Engel again put Juan Ciscomani on the defensive during tonight’s final televised debate. Ciscomani continued to dodge his extreme anti-abortion record and his ties to the Christian Nationalist organization “The Patriot Academy,” while Engel outlined a vision that moves Arizona forward by protecting abortion rights, passing the bipartisan border bill, and strengthening the middle class.

“Ciscomani was on defense tonight because his record in Congress is delivering for Donald Trump, not Arizonans,” said Chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party, Yolanda Bejarano. “We deserve better than another two years of inaction on the border, tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, and extreme abortion bans. Kirsten Engel is the leader Arizonans need in Congress who is ready on day one to protect our rights and deliver real results. ”

Ciscomani’s constituents know that his “hypocrisy is like the Energizer Bunny” and rather than working for them he “consistently votes and sides with the extremists in the HouseThe House majority, which he is a member of, has accomplished nothing because they don’t stand for anything other than to create fear.” Juan Ciscomani has consistently left voters wondering “Who does Ciscomani represent? Tucson? Or Mar-a-Lago?” and hoping “…he gets a backbone and starts to fight for his constituents.” They are asking “Is it too early to vote for a new Representative?” and are ready to reject him November 5th.
