Rep. Schweikert is one of the most vulnerable Republicans in Congress because of his ant-abortion extremism
ARIZONA– Arizona Republic Columnist Ej Motion pushed back on Rep. Schweikert’s attempt at moderating on abortion, highlighting “Schweikert is an anti-abortion zealot who is trying to pretend that he’s not. But, there are receipts.”
Following the Alabama Supreme Court ruling that frozen embryos can be granted legal personhood, jeopardizing IVF and access to contraception, Rep.Schweikert tweeted out support of IVF and co-sponsored what is being called one of the “stupidest bill[s] on IVF you’ll ever read,” as an attempt to moderate his long anti-abortion record, which includes co-sponsoring the Life at Conception Act twice. Rep. Schweikert is one of the “most vulnerable Republicans in the country in part because of his antiabortion stance,” and his long anti-abortion record does not align with his recent rhetoric.
