FACT SHEET: GOP Senate Candidates Are Running to Raise Taxes on 1 in 3 Arizonans
Under the GOP Plan, the Average Arizonan Would Pay $620 More in Taxes
PHOENIX — If GOP Senate candidates Mark Brnovich, Blake Masters, and Jim Lamon get their way, 34% of Arizonans will see a tax increase under the new GOP plan.

They won’t give you the details, so we broke it down for you. See below for the impact of the GOP plan:
BIG PICTURE: The GOP Plan would hike taxes on 34% of Arizonans, including:

  • Retirees who rely on Social Security to get by;
  • People with disabilities who do not have a taxable income; and
  • Working families with children who already struggle to make ends meet.

THE DOLLARS AND CENTS: The plan would cost Arizona’s low- and middle-class families hundreds of dollars in tax hikes:

  • Low-income Arizonans making less than $22,200 a year would pay an additional $660;
  • Those making between $22,200 and $46,800 a year would pay an additional $1,680; and
  • Arizonans making between $46,800 and $76,900 a year would pay an additional $430.

THE END RESULT: Under the GOP plan, the average Arizonan would face a $620 tax hike.
