Congressional Corral: Too much ‘Bull’ not enough Bills
Arizona Republicans have been all over this week’s news, not for legislating but for causing chaos
ARIZONA- Arizona Republicans have been all over this week’s most talked about congressional news for continuing to ‘hoot’ the MAGA Republican talking points. It’s Friday, so here’s a roundup (corral) of what Arizona Republicans have been up to.
- David Schweikert (AZ-01): In his Congressional newsletter, Representative Schweikert yet again plugged an ozempic-like weight loss drug, praising the innovation of Eli Lilly’s Zepbound. Less than a month ago, AZCental exposed where Rep. Schweikert’s obsession with weight loss medication came from: funding from Big Pharma.
- Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06): Rep. Ciscomani’s brother-in-law spoke out against his staunch anti-immigrant stance this week on Twitter, “Tantita madre, wey.“
- Paul Gosar (AZ-09): This weekend, Rep. Gosar used his Congressional newsletter to describe the Russian invasion of Ukraine as “Russia was forced to put a stop to the bloodshed and entered Ukraine to push them back and de-Nazify the Ukrainian militias“
- Eli Crane (AZ-02): Representative Crane has led the MAGA crusade to shut down the government. Today, Rep. Crane went on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” to talk about budget negotiations and shed light on his Republican colleagues: “This party, we never play to win. We play to lose by less“
- Andy Biggs (AZ-05): Rep. Andy Biggs also complained about the Republican Party last weekend, saying that Republicans have “nothing to go out there and campaign on.”
