Arizona Democrats Blast Extreme, Out of Touch MAGA Agenda Ahead of Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s Events in Arizona

Ten Days Until Primary Day, Intra-Party Wars Plague the AZ GOP

PHOENIX – This morning, Arizona Democratic Party Chair Raquel Terán joined by Attorney General Candidate Kris Mayes, and Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Gallardo held a press conference ahead of Donald Trump’s rally in Prescott Valley and Mike Pence’s events in Peoria and Tucson to condemn the dangerous, out-of-touch MAGA Republican agenda.

Trump and Pence are campaigning to rally their base and push their extreme, ultra-MAGA agendas ahead of the upcoming GOP primaries that will leave the AZ GOP fractured and weak for this November’s general election. Joined by his slate of endorsed statewide candidates like extremists Kari Lake, Blake Masters, Mark Finchem and Abe Hamadeh, Trump will take the stage to tout anything but a plan by the Republican Party to help Arizonans.

Pence is here today doing everything in his power to try to make Arizonans forget his fierce loyalty to Donald Trump for the four years he was president. No matter how hard Republican candidates spin it, the Republican agenda is far from moderate, reasonable, or beneficial to Arizonans. Let’s be clear: There is no room for moderates in the GOP of Donald Trump and Kelli Ward, and  Republican candidates who are attempting to mask themselves as “moderate” are not fooling voters.

ADP Chair Raquel Terán: “Arizona voters will not be fooled by the grift every single Republican on the ballot is trying to sell voters. Each Republican candidate is just as dangerous, out-of-touch, and extreme as the other. The Republicans on the ballot represent a pathetic continuation of the corrupt Trump and Ducey administrations and the dangerously extreme GOP of Kelli Ward. In November, Arizonans will have a clear choice between electing leaders who share their values, or electing leaders who are solely focused on appeasing a dangerous, fringe minority. Whichever weak Republicans emerge from these messy primaries, Democrats will be ready to take them on and win in November.”

Attorney General Candidate Kris Mayes: “Donald Trump will be in Prescott Valley later today with his band of grifting grifters, spouting election denialism and attempting to further divide us to undermine our very democracy. […] I cannot think of anyone less representative of my hometown than Donald Trump and the extremist candidates he will be coming here to tout, including the election-denying, anti-democracy, anti-women GOP candidate for Attorney General that Trump is supporting.”
