PHOENIX, AZ — The Arizona Democratic Party (ADP) today announced the hiring of longtime campaign advisor and fundraiser Joey Czajkowski as its new Executive Director. An Arizona native and a University of Arizona graduate with over a decade of experience driving electoral victories, Joey joins the ADP leadership team with a focus on strengthening party infrastructure and championing issues affecting working families.
Joey previously served as the ADP’s Finance Director in 2018 when he helped Democrats win three statewide offices and flip the balance of the state’s congressional delegation for the first time in decades.
Most recently, Joey served as the Program and Development Director for the Democratic Mayors Association, where he significantly expanded the organization’s fundraising capacity and helped elevate the profiles of Mayors tackling housing and economic growth across the country. Prior to that, he also served as the National Finance Director for Secretary Julián Castro’s presidential campaign, where he helped build a major grassroots fundraising operation from the ground up.
“Joey is a collaborative, mission-driven leader who knows how to win in Arizona,” said ADP Chair Charlene Fernandez. “His proven track record of scaling operations and forging coalitions makes him the right person to lead our party into this critical election cycle.”
In his new role, he will oversee statewide strategy, operations, and resource development, ensuring Democrats up and down the ballot are equipped to win.
“I am honored and excited to return to the Arizona Democratic Party at this critical moment to fight for our state’s future,” said Joey Czajkowski, incoming Executive Director. “Our mission is clear: we must demonstrate that Democrats are the party of affordability and accountability. Arizonans are tired of chaos; they want leaders who will lower costs for their families and restore integrity to our government. I look forward to working with our diverse coalition to elect candidates who will deliver real results for our communities.”
Joey Czajkowski’s career has spanned high-stakes national and local arenas. Prior to his work with Democratic Mayors, he has powered some of Arizona’s most significant progressive victories. He managed finance operations for the successful Prop 206 (Minimum Wage) campaign and the MovePHX transportation initiative. He began his career as an intern for the late Congressman Raúl Grijalva and has since worked on numerous competitive congressional and statewide races.
A proud member of the LGBTQ community, Joey Czajkowski holds a degree in Political Science and Biochemistry from the University of Arizona.
