PHOENIX – Arizona Democratic Party Chair Charlene Fernandez released the following statement after hearing of the passing of Arizona Democratic stalwart Herb Ely:

“Herb Ely was a dedicated public servant and a proud Democrat who never wavered in his commitment to protecting our democracy and strengthening our party. Just recently, he and his wife joined us at an event in our office, and it was clear he remained as engaged and passionate as ever. Herb’s leadership, kindness, and steadfast belief in our shared values will be deeply missed. My thoughts are with his loved ones and all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
