Today, the Arizona Democratic Party announced a historic $1.575 million investment in down-ballot races including $270,000 to the ADLCC which was matched by The State’s Project, for a total $600,000 funding boost; another $475,000 into county parties through its County Mobilization Grant program; and an additional $500,000 in paid communications for pro-democracy county candidates like Tim Stringham and Emilia Cortez.
“The Arizona Democratic Party is strongest when our down-ballot races and county parties have the tools they need to win,“ said Chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party, Yolanda Bejarano. “We are at a critical moment as a Party where every investment we make is an investment in the future of Democrats in Arizona. While Arizona Republicans have closed offices, waste money on racist billboards, and solely focus on spreading debunked election denialism claims, Arizona Democrats are organized and prepared to win in November.”
The Arizona state legislature is one of the top-watched legislatures nationally that Democrats are working to flip this year, and the ADLCC has consistently made in-roads in securing Democratic seats year after year. Only four seats are needed to win the Democratic majority this cycle. ADLCC candidates have been hard at work, door knocking, phone banking, and engaging voters at every opportunity in an effort to earn their vote.
“The Republican legislative majority has become increasingly extreme and rather than finding solutions, they’ve focused on undermining our democracy and dismantling our reproductive freedoms. This investment demonstrates Democrats’ commitment to flipping the Arizona Legislature and delivering for our state,” said ADLCC Chair Senator Priya Sundareshan. “Democratic nominees have been outraising their Republican opponents, hitting the doors, and talking to voters about the issues that most impact them. We are ready to take back the majority, lead with integrity, and find meaningful solutions for Arizona’s most pressing issues.”
The Party’s County Mobilization Grant program was developed by the ADP to improve existing Democratic infrastructure and build up voter mobilization programs. Each of the 15 democratic county parties received funding.
“Each dollar used to mobilize voters can be the difference between electing Democrats or allowing MAGA republicans to keep holding us back,” ADP Chair Council Chairwoman Elisabeth Tyndall. “We’re thankful for these investments that will strengthen our county operations and welcome more people into the Party.”
The Arizona Democratic Party understands that the fight for protecting democracy is often held on the local level, which is why it has partnered with Open Democracy PAC and State + Local Election Alliance to invest $500,000 in paid communications for local county candidates like Tim Stringham for Maricopa County Recorder and Emilia Cortez for Yuma County Recorder.

According to the last filings, the Arizona Democratic Party holds a 6:1 cash on hand advantage to the Arizona GOP. Across all campaigns, the ADP has 20 offices, 250 employees focused on turning out voters, and has knocked on over 513,000 doors since the beginning of the year.
