Jim Lamon Calls GOP Plan to Hike Taxes “Pretty Good Stuff”

PHOENIX — As the Associated Press reported earlier this week, Utah resident turned U.S. Senate candidate Jim Lamon called the GOP plan to hike taxes and end Social Security and Medicare “pretty good stuff,” going so far as to tell voters to compare his website to the GOP plan and see for themselves “a whole lot of similarities.”

As a reminder, under the GOP plan, the average Arizonan would face a $620 tax hike. Medicare and Social Security would sunset after five years, leaving millions of Arizona seniors without their earned benefits.

“Jim Lamon has made it official: He backs an incredibly unpopular plan to hike taxes on half of all Arizonans and gut Medicare and Social Security,” said ADP spokesperson Hannah Goss. “No explanation or justification can explain away this truth: Lamon and his c-list primary opponents are running for office to increase taxes on hardworking Arizonans. These politicians are all out of touch and out of step with the needs of our state, which is why voters will resoundingly reject them and their backward agenda.”
