Republican Nomination For Governor Depends On Support From White Supremacists

PHOENIX — The leading Republican candidates to be the next governor of Arizona all know that the path to the nomination runs through white supremacists and insurrectionists.

Following Wendy Rogers’ remarks at Nick Fuentes’ America First Political Action Conference and her recent censure by the Arizona Senate, gubernatorial candidate Matt Salmon has endorsed Rogers’s Republican primary opponent Kelly Townsend in the 7th Legislative District state House race.

In addition to being a known white supremacist, Nick Fuentes is a “Holocaust denier who attended the violent ‘Unite the Right’ rally in Charlottesville in 2017 and rallied his followers on Jan. 6, 2021 to storm the Capitol and overturn the presidential election results.”

Both Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson, who played a key role in elevating Wendy Rogers’ political career, have stayed silent about Rogers’ comments and the censure that has been imposed.

To make matters worse for the GOP field, in a disastrous interview with 60 Minutes Australia (yes, Australia), Lake one-upped herself by actually storming out of the interview after “refusing to say whether she thinks January 6 rioters should be pardoned.”

ADP Spokesperson Morgan Dick  issued the following statement:

“These extreme and out-of-touch Republicans refuse to condemn violent white supremacists, and their ability to lead Arizonans will continue to be questioned for the rest of their campaigns. Instead of addressing the real needs of Arizonans, like fully funding public schools and ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare –  it’s clear all of these candidates have one goal: to serve the interests of the radical right no matter the cost.”
