Karrin Taylor Robson Flirts with Criminalizing Women for Abortions in a Post-Roe World

PHOENIX– Karrin Taylor Robson went on KTAR Wednesday and fumbled her way through her murky stance on abortion. During the interview, Taylor Robson once again said she believes abortion is “murder,” which begs the question–as governor will she support jail time for those seeking or providing abortions?

Taylor Robson also failed to declare whether or not she supports any exceptions to a full ban, quickly unraveling when asked about rape or incest. Instead of offering up an actual answer, Taylor Robson dodged, saying there “can be” but gave no indication if she would support such exceptions in those instances. Taylor Robson went on to pledge that she’ll make Arizona “one of the most pro-life states in the nation.”

“With a looming SCOTUS decision on Roe, Kari Lake and Karrin Taylor Robson’s extremist views on abortion are going to be disastrous and possibly life-threatening for Arizonans,” said Josselyn Berry, spokesperson for the Arizona Democratic Party. “Their frenzied desire to ban abortion in all almost all cases flies in the face of the majority of Arizonans who want abortion to remain legal and accessible. We need to take them at their word, and realize if they get to the 9th floor, they will absolutely eliminate all access to abortion care for Arizonans.”

In response to the leaked draft opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade, Karrin Taylor Robson said “If this opinion holds, and I pray that it does, I will do everything in my power as governor to make sure Arizona is the most pro-life state in the nation.”
In a May interivew with KTAR, “Taylor Robson said she wants Arizona to be one of the most anti-abortion states in the country.
In a Statement, Karrin Taylor Robson cheered Texas’s heartbeat abortion ban as a “Victory for Life” and “A huge step forward in protecting women and children from the horrors of abortion.”
