Kari Lake Flies In More Out of State Extremists As She Fails to Lock Up In-State Support

Lake Adds Tulsi “Russian Asset” Gabbard To List of Supporters

PHOENIX– For her entire campaign Kari Lake has ignored building support here at home in Arizona and instead is tying herself to unpopular, right-wing extremists like Trump, Masters, Ted Cruz and now Tulsi Gabbard. Gabbard, who’s been called a “Russian asset” and most recently compared President Biden to Adolf Hitler, will be in Arizona later today to campaign alongside Lake.

Lake has been alienating the moderate and independent voters needed to win this race. Unlike some other GOP candidates who’ve tried wooing voters in the center, Lake has placed herself in the furthest right corner for her entire campaign. In contrast, Katie Hobbs has been deliberately building a wide, bipartisan coalition of Arizonans who support her for governor.

“The old saying, ‘show me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are’ has never more perfectly summed up a political campaign. Unlike some other GOP candidates who’ve tried wooing voters in the center, Lake has placed herself in the furthest right corner for her entire campaign,” said Josselyn Berry, spokesperson for the Arizona Democratic Party. “Meanwhile, Katie Hobbs showed her bipartisan base of support, standing with Arizona Republicans who held a press conference to highlight why they’re putting country over party to elect Katie Hobbs as the next governor.”

Let’s Review Tulsi Gabbard’s Past:

  • She’s been “Widely portrayed as an apologist for America’s enemies and has had to deny she is a “russian asset.”
  • Best known for defending Syrian Dictator Assad who is a war-criminal.
  • She supported the “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida.
  • In her video announcing her leave of the party, her message also included “what appeared to be veiled antisemitism and QAnon references.”
  • The neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer took credit for boosting Gabbard’s presidential campaign, saying they supported the anti-war candidate to “make the Jews go nuts.”
  • She’s earned praise for white nationalists like David Duke and Richard Spencer.
