Arizona Democratic Party Statement on Rep. Eli Crane Referring to Black Americans as ”colored people” in House Floor Debate

ARIZONA- In response to Representative Eli Crane’s (AZ-02) despicable reference to Black Americans as “colored people” on the House floor yesterday, the Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, Yolanda Bejarano, released the following statement:

“The Arizona Democratic Party joins the Congressional Black Caucus and Arizona’s Democratic lawmakers in calling Representative Crane’s statement deeply offensive and unacceptable. Arizonans know that Rep.Crane’s words and policy proposals are archaic and an undeniable attempt to bring this country backward. Arizonans will not forget this shameful act, and we will hold Representative Crane accountable on the ballot in 2024.”
