ROUND UP: One Weekend Later, AZ-08’s GOP Primary is a Hot Mess
“Arizona’s MAGA wolves are preparing to eat their own to replace Debbie Lesko in CD 8″
ARIZONA- Last Thursday, failed U.S. Senate Candidate Blake Masters entered a messy MAGA primary for Congresswoman Debbie Lesko’s Congressional seat (AZ-08). Reporters and GOP operatives have already begun expressing concerns over Masters’s and Hamadeh’s record and the crowded primary field.
About Masters Launch:
- Washington Examiner: “Master’s previous comments during last year’s election about privatizing Social Security could come back to haunt him in this election”
- Fronteras Desk: “it’s unclear if Masters can earn Trump’s endorsement.”
- Arizona Republic’s EJ Montini: “Essentially [Masters and Hamadeh], they’re the same person. They share a lack of qualifications, a fealty to Trump and a history of losing.”
AZ-08’s Messy Primary:
- Insider: “Masters has another challenge: He’s on a collision course with lots of his former allies on the Trump-aligned right.”
- Arizona Republic’s Laurie Roberts “Call it a clash of the traveling titans. […] It seems to me the fine citizens of CD 8 deserve better, or at least someone who can navigate the neighborhood without the help of Google Maps.”
- Daily Beast: “the long-brewing MAGA battle between Masters and failed Arizona governor candidate Kari Lake is on.”
- New York Magazine: “Blake Masters Lands in Another Nasty Intra-MAGA Primary”
- Arizona Republics EJ Montini: “Arizona’s MAGA wolves are preparing to eat their own to replace Debbie Lesko in CD 8″
