REMINDER: Kari Lake Would Ban Medication Abortion
ARIZONA -– Today, the Supreme Court of the United States announced it would hear a case that could further restrict medication abortion – and Kari Lake supports a complete ban on medication abortion.
“Kari Lake said herself that her dangerous anti-abortion views ‘haven’t changed, actually.’ Arizonans know Lake still supports banning abortion without exceptions for rape or incest, banning medication abortion, and that she believes abortion is the ‘ultimate sin,’” said Olivia Taylor-Puckett, Senior Communications Advisor at the Arizona Democratic Party.
When asked if she would ban medication abortion, Kari Lake said “I would very much support banning those types of abortion pills.”
Kari Lake continues to hold dangerous views on abortion that are out of step with Arizonans, saying just last month that her views “haven’t changed actually.”
Kari Lake confirmed she still believes:
- That abortion is an “execution” and “murder” and “almost a genocide” and the “ultimate sin.”
- That abortion is “not a choice that somebody gets to make […] That’s not a medical choice.”
- That she is “incredibly thrilled” by Arizona’s 1864 territorial abortion ban, which does not include rape or incest exceptions and would jail doctors for performing abortions, calling it a “great law.”
- That she is “I am pro-life 100%,”“I am pro-life 100%,” “I’m 100% pro-life and I’d like to see, I’d like to see no abortions…,” “I am pro-life and I am 100% pro-life.”
