Reminder: Lake said her positions on abortion “Haven’t Changed Actually”
ARIZONA -– “Kari Lake will say or do anything in her power hungry quest to boost her political career, but she can’t lie her way out of her dangerous agenda: she has a long and well documented record of backing a ban on abortion without exceptions for rape and incest and describing abortion as an ‘execution.’ Even today, she once again called for an abortion ban. Arizonans know the truth – Lake is a dangerous threat to women’s right to make their own health care decisions, and that’s one of the most important reasons they’ll reject her again in November,” said Olivia Taylor-Puckett, Senior Communications Advisor at the Arizona Democratic Party.
Here’s a reminder of Kari Lake’s views on abortion which she recently said “haven’t changed, actually:”
- Lake said, “I’m pro life, I believe life begins at conception.”
- Before Roe v. Wade was overturned. Lake said, “I joined Congressman Gosar in praying for God’s guidance to the Supreme Court and an end to this national disgrace created under Roe v Wade.”
- She said she is “100% pro-life,” and believes that there should be no federal right to an abortion, and that the Dobbs decision “corrected a 50 year wrong.”
- She is “incredibly thrilled” about Arizona’s 1864 “draconian” territorial ban on abortion which has no exceptions for rape or incest.
- She believes that abortion is “not health care,” that it is a “sacrifice” and an “execution.”
- She doesn’t believe in “any” abortions and supports the Texas abortion ban that allows for abortion “bounty hunters” and has put women’s lives in danger.
- She believes that an abortion is “not a medical choice.”
- She believes in “banning those types of abortion pills” in reference to medication abortions.
