Kari Lake’s Dangerous Abortion Views “Haven’t Changed, Actually”
ARIZONA -– This week, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos can be granted legal personhood, jeopardizing IVF and access to contraception. Kari Lake has made her opposition to reproductive rights clear, and said just a few months ago her dangerous positions on abortion “haven’t changed, actually.” Lake’s extreme views include support for banning abortions without exceptions for rape or incest for Arizonans, that “life begins at conception,” celebrating the fall of Roe, and “banning those types of abortion pills” in reference to medication abortions.
Here’s a reminder of Kari Lake’s views on abortion which “haven’t changed, actually:”
- Lake said, “I’m pro life, I believe life begins at conception… The baby is a separate human being just because the baby happens to be living in the mother’s womb does not make it less of a person. And we need to protect the unborn.”
- Before Roe v. Wade was overturned. Lake said, “I joined Congressman Gosar in praying for God’s guidance to the Supreme Court and an end to this national disgrace created under Roe v Wade.”
- She is “incredibly thrilled” about Arizona’s 1864 “draconian” territorial ban on abortion which has no exceptions for rape or incest.
- She has called abortion “murder” and “almost a genocide.”
- She doesn’t believe in “any” abortions and supports the Texas abortion ban that allows for abortion “bounty hunters” and has put women’s lives in danger.
- She believes that an abortion is “not a medical choice.”
- She believes in “banning those types of abortion pills” in reference to medication abortions.
- She believes that abortion is “not health care,” that it is a “sacrifice” and an “execution.”
- She calls herself “100% pro-life” and says abortion is an “execution […] pure and simple.”
