Arizona Democratic Party Elects Charlene Fernandez as Chair

September 15, 2025

ARIZONA– This past weekend, at the quarterly Arizona Democratic Party State Committee Meeting, state committee members elected Charlene Fernandez the new Party Chair.

“I am incredibly honored to have earned the vote of my peers and I am committed to working around the clock to ensure voters know that Arizona Democrats are for protecting our freedoms, defending democracy, and making our state more affordable. We will welcome new people into our Party, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot,” said Chairwoman Charlene Fernandez. “I want to thank Senior Vice Chair Kim Khoury for her steady leadership and the Executive Board and Committee for their commitment. Together, I know we will build a Party stronger than ever.”

Charlene Fernandez was born and raised in rural Arizona and is a lifelong public servant— from serving in Congressmember offices to leading Democrats in the Arizona House, to being appointed by the White House to USDA. Fernandez has managed major budgets, built grassroots operations, and delivered results that improve people’s lives. She is ready to put that experience to work for the Arizona Democratic Party.
