Ed Pastor is a native Arizonan and received his Juris Doctorate from the College of Law at ASU. He worked for Governor Raul Castro’s staff after law school and was elected to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in 1976 and served three terms. In 1991, Ed Pastor was elected to Congress and has served on several committees including the Appropriations Committee, Education and Labor Committee and the Committee on Small Business. Congressman Pastor was recently elected to his 10th full term in Congress.

Raul Grijalva is a native Arizonan and began his public service career by helping to organize El Rio Community Health Center and served on the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board. After serving on TUSD Governing Board, Raul served on the Board of Supervisors and managed a $1 billion dollar budget. He was elected into Congress in 2002 and is a member of the Committee on Education and Labor. Congressman Grijalva was recently elected to his 5th term in Congress.

Gabrielle Giffords is a native Arizonan from Tucson. After receiving her B.A. from Scripps College, she took over her family’s tire and automotive business, El Campo Tire, Inc. She represented Tucson in the Arizona State Senate and was the youngest woman ever elected. As a member of House, she serves on the Armed Services Committee, Science and Technology Committee, Vice Chair of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, and many other House committees. Congresswoman Giffords was recently elected to her 3rd term in Congress.

Sandra Kennedy graduated from South Mountain High School and alumni of Arizona State University with B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration. In 1986, she was elected the Arizona House of Representatives and served for six years. She was elected to the Phoenix Union High School Governing Board and in 1992; Sandra was elected State Senator and served three terms. Sandra was elected to the Arizona Corporation Commission in 2008.

Paul Newman attended California Western School of Law and has a private practice in Bisbee. He was a three-term State Representative and named Legislature of the Year by Arizona Association of Counties and Behavioral Health Community. Paul wants to lead Arizona in becoming a source of solar energy and maintain a growing economy. Paul was elected to the Arizona Corporation Commission in 2008.

Kyrsten Sinema, a native Tucsonan, has been a representative of Central Phoenix since 2005 and is now the Assistant Minority Leader. David Schapira is a native Arizonan who has been serving District 17 since being elected in 2006. Olivia Cajero Bedford is a native Tucsonan and has been serving District 27 since 2003. Both of her parents were state Representatives: Rep. Bernardo Cajero and Rep. Carmen Cajero. Before her time in the legislature, Cajero Bedford was a business owner and director of sales and marketing for the tourism industry. She now serves as a member of the Appropriations and Commerce Committees. In 2007 she was honored as one of the Tech 10 Legislators.

Paula is a native of Arizona and taught English and coached the state championship volleyball team at Rincon High School for seven years. She was Director of Racquets Program at Colby College in Watterville, Maine and coached the women’s varsity tennis team. She returned to Arizona as a property manager of a family-owned business in Tucson and was elected into the Senate in 2006. Paula serves Health, Appropriations, and Resources Committees. Ed Ableser has been a representative of Tempe and South Scottsdale since 2007. In addition to serving on the House Environment Committee, he is one of 30 state legislators on the national Coalition of Legislators for Energy Action Now (CLEAN) Committee. Outside of the legislature, Ed is pursuing a doctorate in Justice and Social Inquiry at Arizona State University, where he also teaches courses in Justice Theory. Steve Farley has been representing District 28 since 2007 and has been active in Tucson politics for the past seven years.
