PHOENIX – Yesterday, the Arizona Democratic Party launched a radio campaign reminding voters to cast their ballots for all three Democrats running for the Arizona Corporation Commission. The commission regulates Arizona’s electric, water, and gas utilities. The panel is currently dominated by Republicans, but that could all change in four days.
The Arizona Democratic Party’s radio ads feature Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and Congressman Ruben Gallego. The ads will run through election day and say in part “In order for Arizona to be the solar capital of the world, we need to elect people to the Corporation Commission that will make that a priority…”
On Tuesday, Arizonans will decide the balance of power on the Arizona Corporation Commission. Arizonans now have an opportunity to elect three pro-clean energy and clean jobs candidates to the commission, who have become known as “The Solar Team” due to their commitment to a sustainable, solar focused, energy future.
Who are the Democratic candidates for the commission?
Mr. Bill Mundell
Ms. Shea Stanfield
Mayor Anna Tovar
“Arizonans have a historic opportunity to reshape the makeup of the commission and set Arizona on a path towards a sustainable energy future with clean energy jobs that will help lead our state into the future,” said Matt Grodsky, Arizona Democratic Party spokesman.
