Release: Dr. Tipirneni Endorsed by VP Joe Biden

PHOENIX – Today Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden endorsed Dr. Hiral Tipirneni’s bid to represent Arizona’s 6th Congressional District. In his endorsement, he cited her commitment to expanding access to health care coverage and willingness to put partisan politics aside for the sake of serving her constituents:

“In the emergency room, Dr. Hiral Tipirneni saw firsthand how our health care system is broken, with too many patients refusing treatment or delaying care because of the cost. Dr. Tipirneni took an oath to put her patients first, and in Congress she will do the same – working across the aisle to give her constituents access to the affordable and quality health care they deserve,” said Vice President Joe Biden. “I’m proud to endorse Dr. Tipirneni and know her expertise and commitment to working Arizonans over partisan politics will make her an excellent Member of Congress.”

Dr. Tipirneni is taking on corrupt incumbent, David Schweikert, who finally acknowledged that he is completely out of touch with the residents of his district and has no idea what issues impact them most. On a podcast this week, Schweikert was asked the basic question: “what are the main issues, do you believe, for voters in Arizona?” Schweikert’s response? “Um, for Arizona, uh, I’m not going to be an expert.” This, in conjunction with his unanimous reprimand on the floor of the United States House for eleven ethics violations, is clear confirmation that residents of CD6 deserve better representation in Washington.

Matt Grodsky, Arizona Democratic Party spokesman issued the following:

“The Arizona Democratic Party is proud to see this endorsement today. Arizonans in CD6 have the chance to finally elect a leader who will say no to corruption and yes to putting their constituents first. That leader is Dr. Tipirneni.”
