Raise The Retirement Age?
Does Martha McSally Still Back Raising
The Social Security Retirement Age?
She won’t say, according to a new report
But McSally did vote for a plan that “could lead to higher costs for seniors” on Medicare
PHOENIX — A new report from PolitiFact confirms Martha McSally’s past support for raising the Social Security retirement age and highlights that “[h]er campaign did not say where she [stands] on that issue in 2020.”
“McSally in 2012 stated support for potentially raising the retirement age. Her campaign did not say where she stood on that issue in 2020.”
“Does Martha McSally still support raising the retirement age for Social Security beneficiaries? Arizonans have a right to know,” said Brad Bainum, Arizona Democratic Party spokesperson.
PolitiFact’s reporting also confirms that it’s “accurate” that McSally in 2017 voted for a plan to turn Medicare into a “voucher system” that “could lead to higher costs for seniors.”
