McSally Lies Again In New TV Ad
Martha McSally Repeats Health Care Lie In New TV Ad
The truth: McSally has voted again and again to let insurance companies charge higher premiums to Arizonans with pre-existing conditions
In the same ad, McSally restates her support for dismantling the ACA and the law’s coverage protections
PHOENIX — Martha McSally is lying again — in a new campaign TV ad, McSally repeated a lie that was already debunked this summer by PolitiFact and the Washington Post.
MCSALLY’S LIE: “I’ve always supported protecting anyone with a pre-existing condition, and I always will.”
THE TRUTH: This McSally “I will always protect” lie was already debunked earlier this summer:
That’s because McSally has repeatedly voted to let her health insurance company backers charge higher premiums to older Americans and people with pre-existing conditions.
And McSally isn’t even trying very hard to hide that record: In the same TV spot, McSally reaffirms her opposition to the Affordable Care Act — the only federal law that fully protects people with pre-existing conditions from being denied or charged more for coverage.
That position puts McSally in lockstep with her party as it fights in court to fully strike down the health care law and its coverage protections entirely.
