Martha McSally Is Right
Martha McSally Is Right: It’s “Disappointing” That Senate Republicans Are Still Blocking Coronavirus Relief, Because Mitch McConnell Is Putting Politics First
PHOENIX — Martha McSally is correct: “It’s disappointing that the Senate can’t come together to support the backbone of our economy” and “The repeated inability to advance an expansion of PPP for American workers is exactly why Arizonans are frustrated with Washington.”
But it’s too bad McSally refuses to stand up to her party leaders and put Arizonans first in Washington.
Because it’s Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans who have been blocking new coronavirus relief since May — with no leadership from McSally. And it’s Mitch McConnell who told Senate Republicans yesterday that he’s “warned the White House not to make a big stimulus deal before the election.”
“Senator McSally is right that Arizonans are frustrated with Washington — she just doesn’t realize that she’s part of the problem: McSally and Mitch McConnell have wasted 5 months playing political games rather than working to pass relief for Arizona workers and small business owners,” said Brad Bainum, Arizona Democratic Party spokesperson.
