ADP Statement on President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda

Following President Biden announcing the Build Back Better framework today, ADP Chair Raquel Terán released the following statement:

“Thanks to the tireless work of our Democratic leaders and community advocates, President Biden and Democrats are on the verge of passing a transformational agenda that is centered on working people and small businesses.

“On the campaign trail last year, Joe Biden promised to strengthen the backbone of the country so that our government works for them — and while the work is not over, this framework keeps that promise to create millions of good-paying jobs, address the climate crisis head on, deliver tax cuts and lower costs for working families, and grow our economy from the bottom up and the middle out.

“While Republicans are busy helping massive corporations skirt their tax obligations and padding the pockets of their uber-wealthy campaign donors, Democrats are ready to pass this overwhelmingly popular agenda and invest in what matters most: children, working people, seniors, small businesses, and our planet.

“It’s why we won up and down the ballot in 2020, and it’s why we’ll win again in 2022. It’s simple: Arizonans expect results, and Democrats are delivering.”

The Build Back Better Agenda includes investments to:

  • Offer universal and free preschool for all 3- and 4-year-olds

  • Make child care more affordable

  • Extend the American Rescue Plan’s expanded Child Tax Credit

  • Fund the largest effort to combat climate change in American history

  • Lower health care costs with the largest expansion of the Affordable Care Act in a decade
