Statement on upcoming vote on American Jobs Act

Andrei Cherny, Arizona Democratic Party chairman, released this statement in advance of an expected vote today in the U.S. Senate on the American Jobs Act:

“This Senate vote will be a critical moment for our nation and for Arizona. The urgency felt across our state has so far unmoved Senators McCain and Kyl to take action, but they can change that by supporting the American Jobs Act. This legislation will help middle-class families get ahead, keep teachers in our classrooms and police and firefighters on the beat. It will cut taxes for middle-class families and small businesses and is made up of ideas that have historically received broad bipartisan support."

“For those who are looking for work, there is no time for delay. We call on these senators to do what's best for the people -- support the American Jobs Act."
