Get to know Douglas Ducey at iamacrook.com
Republican state treasurer candidate has a heckuva sketchy record
A new web site has been launched to help voters get to know Republican state treasurer candidate Douglas Ducey: iamacrook.com. The site highlights several of Ducey's crooked ways, er, most notable traits and achievements:
- His own federal bailout! As Cold Stone's CEO, Ducey profited as franchisees took $181 million of taxpayer-backed loans from the federal government and paid franchise fees and other costs back into his company. Too bad his business model forced 31 percent of their loans into default. He didn't have to pay back the $53 million in defaulted SBA loans. Not his problem!
- Tax-dodging is easy! Ducey skipped out on property taxes for his Paradise Valley mansion in 2006, 2008 and 2009. Crooked ways saved him some cash ... until he ran for office and had to pay up. Oops!
- See no evil... Ducey's opponent, Andrei Cherny, wants to conduct top-to-bottom audits of Arizona government and weed out waste and corruption. Ducey thinks that's crazy talk! Why make your friends at the Legislature angry?
- Who needs Main Street when there's Wall Street? Ducey would rather invest our state funds in Wall Street than in Arizona businesses. Why take a chance on Arizona when Wall Street is a sure thing?
- Sanctions, schmanctions. Ducey is against employer sanctions and plans to stay that way -- and look the other way -- as long as the big-money opponents of sanctions keep sending him campaign checks.
To learn the stone-cold truth about Ducey's dicey record, check out iamacrook.com.
